Very cute!

And also very ballsy to use a Vocaloid song. Miku, right? Can't say I've heard this one though... it worked very nicely for the video nonetheless, but a vocaloid song is a hit-or-miss with the crowds, a lot of people can't stand her robot-y voice, but it works with the clocks considering. lol
Very nicely done, nicely animated, and choreographed. Thanks for sharing. :3

I, for one, find it hilarious.

I find it funny that some NG users are getting their panties all up in a bunch about it, considering I know for a fact if the song was about camel toes, they'd be handing out tens if they could get their hands off their dicks long enough to do it. (Anyone else seen that South Park episode about fart jokes and queefs?)

Anyway, on the topic of the animation itself, it was ok. Really short song to work with, the visual humor was kinda stupid as well, although I did smirk at the guy who couldn't pedal his bike with his buddies because his balls were too small. To make it short and sweet: you guys have great talent, there's nothing in the technical departments that were wrong, just wasn't your best work. Could've been funnier, and I personally think you might've been better received if the two characters going the safari were female this time around. I don't know about you, but I know a lot more women who would've connected better to this then men. Other than that... just lengthening the song could've helped make it more colorful

curtiSmith responds:

Thanks for your vote, yeah, the animation isn't my best, but with the time I had I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Hmm...

I don't know about this one, I love the art and animation, voice acting was... okay...
Story was bland, and honestly... as much as I love Asi, have you ever observed stray cats in the wild? Hell, even owned a cat? This is the way dogs and wolves act, man. Not cats.

But its not this that has me wondering the most... I'm sorry, but I just don't believe you know Asi and got permission to submit this. Asi for the longest time has been a fallen artist, a ghost that has wandered off the face of the internet since his account was banned on Deviantart. It's been years since I've caught any wind of him, but this is for sure his style of art and animation.
What's more disturbing is that you mention he does not have a Newgrounds account... he does. At least did. Bad-asi; albeit, he hasn't shown any real activity on that account in a couple of years as well.

Also, why the hell are you submitting a new flash every 4 days? This is really freakin' odd, dude.
I hope to God you're legit.

wanton360 responds:

No joke, you can ask him, he said that I could submit to newgrounds because he won't. he doesn't like NG, I'm not totally sure why, but he prefers youtube I guess. this isn't my story, it's a book called "Warriors by Erin Hunter", I'm glad you know Asi, a lot of people here don't but yeah, he made this, he sent it to me in an email saying I could put it here. You can go to the youtube account, my names in the list of people helping. 3rd one.

Um...

What can I say? Nothing to this game. Why the hell do you purposefully throw the stickman right into a never ending hole at the start? So... awesome, I'm a stick-figure falling through white that can make portal making noises while having to listen to Still Alive. Fix it so that I at least get to stand on that little platform area you tease us with at the beginning to mess around the portals at least before trying again. Other than that, this has gotten really old, seriously.

Great game...

But I hate those spiders. It felt very stiff, lagged my computer, and it was glitchy at points that made me just want to punch the screen. Still though, you did wonderfully, it was a beautiful work of art, had an intriguing story line, and fun enemies to hate.

Although, if its possible, in the sequel...
-Add a "next" button for the text. Not everyone reads that slow, or that fast. Unless you're going to introduce voice actors, it doesn't hurt it, especially because the music is on loop. I desperately wanted to just skip it, but I wanted to follow the story, so I was left getting later and later for school. lol
-Please add a quality toggle, I couldn't find one, and right clicking the quality down wasn't available.
-Please refine the attack contact points, or at least lower the "daze" the guard goes into when he's struck. Many times during boss battles, I'd get surrounded by minions who would toss me back and forth while the boss bashed me to death.
-Allow jumping over enemies to avoid attacks either work all the time, or not at all. It was really confusing because at some points, I'd be able to jump over an archer's arrow without problems, and other times, I'd hit the peak of my jump, and the arrow would somehow strike me, and "teleport" me back to the ground. It was irritating to say the least.
-Fix the spiders. When they attack, they sort of creep forward past my shield. It was bad enough that they were ridiculously hard to hit and kill, but then they'd sneak past my shield while I'm trying to regain health.

Lol, sorry about all the cons, but it was really infuriating. Wonderful game none the less, and I can't wait until the next one. Kudos to you, man.

SeethingSwarm responds:

Dont worry about all the cons man. You have some really good points there. Making this game has taught me a lot and I know how to fix almost all of those now. I dont know if I would be able to fix all those problems with the combat in the sequel to the Rise of a Knight because I will be using the same engine, but with other games in the future I now have a much better understanding and concept of how to make combat scenarios work in sidescrollers.

Friendly tip against spiders: They hate the heavy attack. Use it. Press S.

Thanks a lot for the review and all the helpful feedback :)

Great work!

Quite and addicting game, really. Very soothing, too. My only qualms with it, is that the dragon isn't very maneuverable, even in mouse-control mode. The controls were kind of painful, but it adds that extra difficulty. ^^ thank you for a great game.

Ironic for this piece to be called "Sorrow."

I actually get a more uplifting feel to it because of the piano, especially starting at 00:24 with what sounds like the xylophone's intro. it sounds like the soundtrack of someone who is downtrodden, or about to die, who has a flashback of a happier childhood, right before they find peace once more. Kind of conflicting, but I like it!
